Directions


You'll need to know
1. The ID of the course you wish to copy (Source)
2. The ID of the course you wish to copy to (Destination)


Finding a course in the GPA Catalog:
The best way to copy a GPA class is to first view our course catalog in GPA Master Courses in Canvas. Once you locate the course, we suggest you highlight and copy the course ID from there - you will need it when copying the course. 

Copying a Course Steps:

  1. Log into Canvas
  2. Create a course to serve as the destination course if that course does not already exist (review the course creation tutorial here)
  3. Point to "Courses" and select the destination course 
  4. Click "Settings"
  5. Click "Import Content Into This Course"
  6. In the "Content Type" drop down box select "Copy a Canvas Course"
  7. In the "Course Name" box enter the source Course ID (GPA Course ID copied from our website catalog)
  8. To copy the entire course select "All Content". To copy segments of the course select "Select specific content" and then skip to the "Copying Segments of a Course" section below these directions
  9. Click "Import"

Continuing from Step 8 above:

  1. Click "Import"
  2. Click "Select Content"
  3. Use the arrows to open up sections of the course
  4. Use the checkboxes to select which areas you wish to copy
  5. Tip: if you wish to copy a single unit and everything it contains just select that unit under the modules
  6. Click "Select Content"a Course"
